Docker Vendor Hooks: New to 8.4.0 Containers

New to this release, we’re now offering a way to run your own scripts inside the OpenEMR container at various lifecycle points. Our goal is to let you package up local changes to your vanilla installation in a way that can see them unpacked and reapplied if the container is replaced for a security upgrade.

openemr/docker/HOOKS.md at master · openemr/openemr · GitHub has the full details; briefly, you can supply a script directory as a Docker volume mount and the container will look for them and run them when it’s appropriate. Pack up your module or your custom software and you can watch it roll into a fresh container on first boot. Our goal is to see you able to accept upstream security updates (or at least, test them in your development environment) with a minimum of invested effort.
