Data integration multiple data entry points

I am considering using open EMR in starting our medical practice.  We are a housecall business and will do data entry from both a home office and at point of contact (patient homes).
Can I integrate both the laptop data with the desk top data with the open EMR?  Where do I find out how best to do this?

OpenEMR is web based.  I would recommend simply getting a go-anywhere wireless service for your laptop, (after putting plenty of security protocols in place of course).  On the road, you should have decent access to the EMR.  Many smartphones can access the EMR just fine.  You will just need to have a static IP and/or a domain name to point to your server like any other web-server, then start using it!  Try out the Demo EMR from the equipment you have currently, in the type of locations you need to go.  Should be the best choice for this.  It is a much better solution than the “re-integrate two databases” method that other EMR’s must use to have a wandering EMR.

I have an tool I developed specifically for home visits.  It allows you to send encrypted medical records individually to/from OpenEMR to a laptop application that works with offline.  I call it MEDICS…

Hi Tony…
will you be able to share the MEDICS tool? I am also doing home visits, so that will be a great help for me too… my mail ID: superarnab@gmail.com

MEDICS is a proprietary add on that we sell, however it’s not expensive at all.   Be happy to sell you a copy.
