Hello.
I am from Kenya and I recently installed OpenEMR for our clinic but for some reason I am not able to create a patient visit.
Any help on how to go about this?

Hello @litu
Welcome to the community and its forum.
In case you have not seen it yet, OpenEMR has a wiki page which contains a lot of information and tutorial materials on the first steps of using OpenEMR. Go to this page and select the link to your OpenEMR version, although you will see that documentation for older versions of OpenEMR usually still apply to later versions.

Look in the ‘Main Topics’ and ‘Supplementary Topics’ sections for instruction on the user workflows.
Creating a patient encounter requires that a series of steps and settings have already taken place and are corect.
Have you referred to the wiki article describing how to create and conduct a patient encounter?
They are described here:
https://www.open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/A_Generic_Medical_Encounter_Workflow_in_OpenEMR_6.1
However- if you have already put those things in place, the grey’ed out menu option usually means that you do not have a patient record open, but the operation is one that requires it. So open a patient record and you will be able to create an encounter for them.
Ah- thank you @moussa you posted mere seconds before I did!
