Hi Scifi000

Go to Administration/Codes and at the top for Type choose CPT4, for code 92310, Description Contact Lens Fitting, Fees - Your fee then click add as new. Repeat for all CPT codes that you use. Now when you search for your code it will be there.

Yes, I did follow the directions and it worked. I have a question. When I do the Fees and select new patient, there is a drop down menu, where I am able to select intermediate or comprehensive exam. When I select comprehensive, the code is always 92005. Is there a way I can change this default to code 92004 for comprehensive exams? Thanks.

Hello Scifi000

You can change the fee sheet dropdown values under ‘Administration->Lists->Fee Sheet’ screen. Where you can delete the default value for ‘Comprehensive’ type and can search and add the new cpt code.

Assuming you are in the US & submit PQRS codes, the attached may be helpful. 1 & 2 are about configuring the Fee Sheet. The balance shows the end results.

More on Fee Sheet Categories.

Users Manual & Supplementary topics are most helpful.

Thanks everyone for their kind help. I am trying to customize an exam sheet. Let’s for example give it a field name of Elephant. It has to have a static box or an editable box that appears on the exam sheet all the time, that details eveything that describes an Elephant like: Long nose, big ears, four legs, about a good paragraph size, static box that can be check marked as “Yes.” Meaning all the words in the static box or editable box is associated with an Elephant.

Hello Scifi000

Try creating your own forms using ‘Layout based visit forms’. This wiki link will be useful.

Thanks

There appears to be a problem with the display of a static text after saving, see this thread.

Alternatives would be to use CAMOS or NationNotes (look in Supplementary section).

I would start with something simple like the speech dictation form set if you are rolling your own code. Aside from that, perhaps you could go to the /contrib/ folder, and look for opthalmology forms. Drop the whole directory for that form into /interface/forms/. Then go to Adminstration-Forms. Look for the form at the bottom, and check register. Then assign it to a menu group (put in a name like “eye exam forms”), and give it a nickname if you like…then hit “update” to save that. Now click “Install DB”, then “Enable”. Check out the forms. If they are close enough to what you like, you might get by with a little tweaking.
