Hey
I have a question is there any website (tutorial) who show how to create, where to start writing the CMS Patient Portal (wordpress). I would like to integrate my local application OpenEMR with service CMS. I would like to see an example of how to retrieve the name of a patient from OpenEMR and display them in the CMS application.
Thank
See the WIKI page of preliminary efforts to get the CMS going. Now it is there I don’t know if there will be an update. (They are mentioned in the original post of CMS development by Rod)
It works as magic to include extrernal information into OpenEMR. (Input from the client with free text etc. that can be included in the correct spot and with the correct wording into OpenEMR)
To understand the Magic, need to learn Wordpress, Ninja Forms, and OpenEMR as a minimum.
Probably Rod Roark can shed more light on how this was accomplishes so it can be additional information for the WIKI pages. (Already five pages to begin with!)
The insurance Forms need to have some extra attention, but for starters this CMS gives a great advantage above a face to face only contact.
Not sure if the original quesion is one of programming or usage? If programming, take a look at the code in interface/cmsportal to start with. For usage, the development demos may help:
to my surprise when searching for your WIKI page on CMS I only got info for pages on Consent Management S (???) rather confusing since the portal reads indeed “CMS Portal” (Not meaning anything like Consent). I don’t know how to correct this for future USER Questions. CMS is not always CMS.
Diving and swiming, almost drowning I started to learn Wordpress basics and Ninja Forms.
Is my conclusion correct:
Login Wordpress.
Make an E-mail of the correct version (Ninja or any other compatible) with the correct fields and
Let Wordpress send this e-mail
to the OpenEMR version of choice?
OpenEMR accepts the e-mail and makes the message ans attachement available to any USER
The USER accept or reject or redirects the info to the correct place.
Get the choice of delete or save…
What parts are OpenSource? My doubts generated since I could not get the Ninja Forms used in some part of this workflow. Although it is mentioned in the original WIKI pages as example-info still to come. Or do I need to make Rod’s forms available in Wordpress as a plugin. With the WIKI page as is, this CMS-Portal in not for the weak harted non-Developers. It is more a struggle of surviving and remembering all the lessons learned for Wordpress, Ninja and OpenEMR.
In the world of web sites, CMS = Content Management System.
WordPress sends email to notify users of various things, but not to OpenEMR. Instead OpenEMR connects to the WP site to pull the data that was entered into Ninja forms and/or the messaging plugin.
WordPress is open source, as are most plugins. Ninja Forms has some extensions that are commercial, as are many themes. The Condition Logic extension to Ninja looks pretty useful.
Yes it takes a bit of study. I’ll try to make it more clear in the documentation. Thanks for your comments.
Right, my client didn’t need the patient scheduling their own appointments so that didn’t get in there. I’d be interested to hear ideas as to what that should look like. The challenge is to give the patient something useful without mucking things up for the front desk.
Would a search and reservation system comparable with the airplane ticket services be of any help? You do have to make something with a reservation time, if you are to late to confirm you loose your appointment.
I can not download the Ninja extension files from your site. This was good enough for me to learn Ninja Forms and that is easy, if you know what to expect and what to do.
Cartpauj PM seems to work since I get e-mail messages from within Wordpress.
I know that somewhere behind the horizon is a breakthrough to get things going, and want to add my experience in the WIKI CMS pages before I forget.
Question 1: How do I download the Ninja example forms from Sunset… website? (I use Firefox latest the only thing I can see is a continuous text representation of the form without any clue of what to do next)
Question 2: If the Ninja Forms are complete, and I have most information in, how do I get the information from the Wordpress page into OpenEMR Demographics? Or as your statement above suggest, how do I get OpenEMR to look into Wordpress and give me the e-mails I want to retrieve.
To download a sample Ninja form with Firefox, right-click the name and select “Save Link As…”.
To import the saved form into WordPress you need to be logged in as an administrator. From your dashboard select Forms -> Import/Export and go from there.
To get demographics from WordPress into OpenEMR, click “CMS Portal” in OpenEMR’s menu. That should pop up a window that lists pending requests from the portal. Click the date/time of the desired demographics line. Then select an existing patient or click Add New Patient. Make any desired changes and click Save and Delete Request.
ASAP yes as possible I will do this. Interesting, importing the Ninja files from Sunset site would be so easy… struggled and struggled to find a solution.
If the system works as on the Demo site, it will be smooth sailing from now. (The WIKI is so clear on certain parts and hard to understand on different parts where even images of the screen I encounters will not give the clue).
Tnx for the response. I will let you know with or without a next question list.
Hackers stelen gegevens ECB
donderdag 24 juli 2014
Please read your local/international information sites to get the story behind this hacking. European Central Bank in not any Hosting provider!
TRANSLATION:
Hackers stole e-mail addresses and more from a ECB sub-site, (no financial information tough,) from a site where you can register for events etc. Do we as OpenEMR USERS need to put a warning in place for the CMS-portal that certain registered info fields could lead to misuse of those personal information and unexpected hacking of this information can not be guaranteed. I do not want to implement that this kind of hacking might be an intrusion of HIPAA, but it could be necessary to put something like a warning, “given info is not protected by HIPAA declaration for OpenEMR”?
Hi Pieter, not sure I understand what you mean. I’m pretty sure that any patient information on or passing through the portal would be subject to HIPAA.
We need to understand that if the Wordpress is on a different Server than the HIPAA compliant Local or Web Server machine should have the same HIPAA protection for the Wordpress files and information as what is suggested for the OpenEMR files. If the Wordpress server can not give the HIPAA compliant Service this should be mentioned on the front page.
I guess the point is that the WordPress side of the portal is not part of OpenEMR and will not be included in OpenEMR’s certification. So it will be up to the clinic to do whatever is necessary to ensure compliance.
Yes, that was my point. We USERS or Providers of OpenEMR with implementation of the CMS portal need to take HIPPAA action if we want all medical information exchange to be HIPPAA compliant.
