I set up the CMS portal and it works fine. I really appreciate the work there. I am not liking Ninja forms however. I am wondering if there is a reason for using Ninja over other forms generators? It appears that I could use another forms plug-in. Of courst I would have to re-write the quiries to match another system. But the method would be similar. Am I seeing correctly?
Well, I have been playing around with Contact Form 7 and it is prety easy to set up and use. Formatting options and conditional fields are freely available and I can add CSS and file uploads with no aditional plug ins needed. For a person who knows a little HTML (very little) this is more powerful (it appears to me) and it is free. So I would rather use it. I know that the plug ins for Ninja are all very good and the interface is rather smoothe but I prefer being able to modify things directly and to be able to make it do what I want directly. I do not like not being able to get at the secret sauce. And so to have that level of flexability I would be purchasing their complete package of plug ins. So, that seems waistful.
The CMS Portal did use CF7 when originally developed (early 2014), but it had some quirks and limitations (I don’t recall the details) and the client liked Ninja better. CF7 has probably improved since then and may be worth a re-visit, if there is funding for that.
Looking forward to seeing what you will have for scheduling!
In the process of experiementing with options for patient portals, I started learning about work being done with HL7 and integration with Mirth. It seems like this is ideal. Is there anything being done with this as a develpoment project. I see discussions. I also see that OpenEMR has at least a partial compatibility. Am I off track? It seems like this is the next step.
