Whenever I am prompted to WHO IS THE PROVIDER if I want to give some more Demographic information on a client, I HAVE TO GIVE A NAME OF PROVIDER, this is great feature.
From an older program I uploaded a table of about 160 contact persons, persons I do contact regularly.
In Address book I can choose a provider on First, Last or Specialty and that helps a lot to concentrate on wanted information.
When I have to choose a provider in Demographics-screen I am confronted with a list of the sorted table on First then Last. If you are not familiar with the Initials or the first name of the provider 60 is a rather long list to search for a name.
Question:
Can PROVIDER-name list in Demographics, be changed into something like the address book search, so I can concentrate on Lastname and/or Specialty of medical providers?
It would be a great improvement if working with a rather long list in the address book (Multi Facilities etc).
Interesting comments. We found the REQUIREMENT of selecting a provider to be tedious, since we have only one, so OUR take is to change that to Optional. I believe that the default should presume a small practice (one provider) but indicate in the instructions (Tony?) the ease of making it a requirement by changing that in Admin - Layouts.
In any case, I think the developers are planning a substantial improvement in search elsewhere in the forums, and i suggested there that we use a common approach throughout, with the maximum INclusion in the searching for precisely the reasons you note.
About the Dutch; as you might read in other forum postings, my wife did a no-no and renamed the dutch field def’s, which crashed the stuff she was looking for, the dutch Psyche research forms.
So I have made a set with Dutch - English php files for the field labels display so she can use them. I sure hope my translations are correct, but I’ll bet there are flaws. Will those be included in the translations tables? Anybody? If you want copies, contact me via my website and I’ll send them. Note that they conform to the “new” and “view” forms in each of three cases, so they have a prefix to identify which, and are too large to put directly here.

Joe,
Any code in cvs that is wrapped in the xl() function will be considered an English constant. These are what get put into the translation spreadheet for the translators. Check out this page on the wiki on the xl() function. We basically wrap all output with this to check for translations. So as long as your files use xl() to enclose all output and the files get put into cvs at some point, then our script will find them. http://www.oemr.org/modules/wiwimod/index.php?page=LanguageTranslation
(just look at the bottom half, basically so if you have the word ‘formulary’ outputted in your form, then you’d just make it xl(‘formulary’) - this tells openemr to look for possible translation.
I hope this makes sense
