Certified E-prescribing solution for OpenEMR

OpenEMR now has a SureScripts certified, Medicare compliant e-prescribing system integrated within via a Single Sign on function to PHYAURA e-prescribing.  Users who wish to e-prescribe without having to log into another website, this may be the solution for you.

We have been very pleased with the response of our current clients in the TampaBay market.  Our OpenEMR users use this system exclusively to track medications and send refill requests.  Medication list are printed from the e-prescribing site.

The e-prescribing solution is web based and includes a free patient health record that can be uploaded via PDF into OpenEMR, a free website for providers/offices, and customized splash page where your practice logo can be inserted for patients to see.

The system meets all the requirements necessary to receive the 2% bonus from Medicare like checking drug to drug interactions, allergy checking, formulary checking, generic drug suggestions.  There is no need to maintain drug databases in OpenEMR.

Future releases from PHYAURA will include demographic and allergy uploading of patient information from OpenEMR, downloading of patient drug history, and importing new patient information directly from the site.

Check out the repository for the new code.

I just installed this and yet to receive my username and password.  I am excited to test this out.  One concern is that this is a one way transaction.  If my internet is down, I will lose this function.  I have a system now that is secure and independent.  It would be nice if a drug database is imported into the system in the future.
