Can vital signs graphed be filtered by dates and is there a limit to number of data points?

I note that the Track Anything module allows graphing of data items for a defined period (or encounters). Is such a date filtering possible for Vital Signs and if so how can this option be added or used?

Also, is there a limit to the number of vital signs records that can be saved for a patient or is this limited only by the size of the database.

Lastly, has there been any progress with past suggestions of being able to select more than one vital sign to graph (at present only blood pressure has automatic dual item graphing)?

If Track Anything is used for vital signs, in lieu of the Vitals module, are you able to filter for date?

If multiple parameters are graphed in Vitals, it would seem to be counter- productive, given the size of the graph area. The purpose of a graph is to give a bird’s eye view of a trajectory. If too much data is presented in one confined area, the original intent will be quickly lost.

Both systolic & diastolic blood pressures need to be recorded together because separately they have less significance.

Dear fsgl,

Thanks for your ever readiness to respond to questions on this Forum.

I have not tried the Track Anything module but from the video it appears possible to select items to view over a defined period or selected number of encounters.

On the issue of display of multiple elements of the Vital signs, I am aware the issue may be the Y-axis scale for different units but it would be nice if users can view the trends of different vital signs simultaneously. If there is an easy way of exporting each graph, this can be combined in another application to provide the same visual display for consideration and decision making.

Do you have any information on the limit of number of vital signs that can be stored for one person in the system?

Don’t have more information about upper limits.

If I had to guess, it probably depends on the size of the hard drive & RAM.

There was a recent post about the number of patients which can be accommodated in OpenEMR. A forum member reported that 100,000 patients were easily handled.

Another thought about composite graphs.

LBV forms have a G, graphable, option. Try squeezing in data with it. Certainly less labor-intensive than Track Anything.

Has anyone tried setting a date limit on the graphing of Vitals. As in most reports, there is a filter to limit the report to a time frame (from one date to another). Is this possible with the trends report and has anyone tried this?
