Calendar integration with Microsoft Outlook

Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone has experimented with integrating the OpenEMR calendar with an organization’s Microsoft Outlook calendar?

I am looking for a way to “one-way” syncronize the provider calendar in OpenEMR with the same user’s Microsoft Outlook user calendar on our organization’s exchange server. The end result would be that when an appointment is scheduled in OpenEMR, it is syncronized to the provider’s Outlook profile (with a mask removing PHI of course) to block off that time in the provider’s organization calendar in Outlook.

I realize there are many things to consider here (namely that this is not true syncronization) …but just want to get a sense if anyone has explored this before?

Thanks!

Dan

Exchange provides API and MySQL provides ODBC. So this should be a good starting point.

Hi,

We have done this one way synchronization with Microsoft share point and also msn. Whenever we create an appointment in openEMR calendar for a provider, the appointment for the same user will be created in the share point calendar, with the rendering provider, facility information, etc. We have also tried this out with msn calendar by mailing process.

Thanks
