I’m setting up OpenEMR and looking for the best storage server options to ensure smooth performance and data security. Since medical records require reliable storage, I’m considering different setups like NAS, SAN, or dedicated storage servers.
Does anyone have any recommendations based on their experience? Key things I’m considering:
Speed and reliability
Backup and redundancy options
Scalability for future growth
Compliance with healthcare data regulations
I would love to hear what others are using and any best practices!
Have to start with the basics, are you building this on your own infrastructure? Dedicated/co-located hosting with full physical control? Or using cloud resources like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Compute, etc?
What is your anticipated system load, number of providers, number of users/clinical staff?
All these things will affect the kind of infrastructure you want to build, whether it’s your own, or you’re just renting resources on Other Peoples’ Computers.
Hi,
That sounds great! Which hosting provider are you referring to? Are they offering specialized EMR hosting with security and compliance features like HIPAA, or do they provide a broader range of services? free suppot also there.
