Hi Folks,

Just got an email from CMS titled.
The Version 5010 Transition is Four Months Away- Are You Ready?

Will we be ready?

Thanks

The important part (837p) is in progress, off and on as I fit it in between other client requests.  Don’t see any problem.

Rod,

We are now 85 days away.  Please post what you have and let the community help finish this.  We need testing time.  The users are getting very nervous now.

Thanks
Tony

As I mentioned in the Users forum, 837p is targeted for this month.  That has not changed.  I strongly suggest looking at the 835 stuff… I don’t know of anyone working on that.

I read that and wondered if you mean in mid Oct or by Oct 31st.  The time is running short. Not to be pushy or anything  just hyper anxious.

As to 835, the specs OEMR purchased using a generous donation from a member clinic were for 837p only.  Costing $525.00.

A single user CDROM of all the 5010 specs (of which we need 3 or 4 270/271, 835 and possible 837i is $850.00.  So… I guess we need to raise that ASAP … and … find developers to meet this need.

PS: 6030 is out now

Tony, end of month.  Don’t fret, it’s not a big programming deal, just takes some attention to detail.

So, anyone want to fund that CD-ROM purchase?

The OEMR just received this contribution, which I have posted for review by the community.  This is preliminary and we are seeking early review and testing.   There is a SQL file that can be used to update the database.    sql/5010_test_sqlupdate.sql.  This will be integrated in the the normal places after testing

https://github.com/oemr501c3/openemr/tree/x12-5010

This is not Rod’s version; so some coordination, merge and comparison may be in order when he shares what he has been working on.

PS … Dr Bowen agreed to fund the purchase of the remaining specs through a donation to OEMR.   Matching donations accepted :-)  They will be needed.

Hi Tony,
Posted some quick thoughts on the github branch. The first thing I wanted to make sure is that this code was based on the most recent codebase, if not, then I’d like that addressed that before I do a more thorough review(also, for testers much easier to get the sql changes into database.sql and the formal upgrade sql script). Just let me know.
thanks,
-brady

Tony I also added a github comment… basically doesn’t look like a diff against current code, and who’s the programmer?  Can’t really discuss their code without their input.

Rod,

Is your code ready for review?  It’s 3 days to the end of the month and 2 months from drop dead requirement.

Art contributed some code for review and directional consideration….  It is not intended to replace your work as much as supplement it with extra “eyes” on the problem.   He is really working on the 835s …

How do we get access to the 5010 837P standards? Do I have to buy them myself?

Thanks

Tony, please let me know what your testing plans/schedule are.

Also is Art still gonna do the 835 stuff?

Speaking of 835’s, I want to point out that there’s a REF*6R segment that could allow us to specify a Line Item Control number in the 2400 loop.  I just noticed this and it looks VERY useful to improve robustness of remittance posting.  We oughta add support for it.

Hi

Does this mean that OpenEMR is compliant with 5010 standards?

I pushed my 837p work to SF, as a client reports successful testing with Gateway EDI and there’s been no other feedback.

We have tests still in progress with Availity.   But fixes can happen as needed

Yes of course, it may very well be that more fixes are needed.  I was just getting tired of rebasing from the master branch and resolving conflicts.

Thanks for the testing help.
