I’ve set up OpenEMR for a new, smallish clinic here. They are looking for a clearinghouse to use with OpenEMR. Right now we are using the calendar, and we’re moving rapidly toward billing.
We found freeclaims.com as a possible clearinghouse. It appears (if I’m reading thing correctly) that we can upload X12 claims to them. Has anyone here had any experience with them as a clearinghouse?

Go ahead and sign up. You’ll be in test mode until your ready to go production ready. You’ll have to notify them when you are production ready. Once you upload a few X12s you can view the 1500 forms on screen and edit some (not all) it. I’ve used it lightly and for testing. They dont cover enough of our insurance companies.
You could also download the training videos on the site and get a real good heads up on how to work with them.
