Adding openEMR 5.0.0 patch

I have downloaded the December patch for 5.0.0. It is sitting in my inbox. I am not sure which directory is the “openemr web directory”. I have tried to move it to /var/www and to /var/www/openemr , but the computer says that I do not have permission to do this. I am working in Ubuntu 16.*.
Any suggesions would be appreciated.

hi @docrovner, what is output after you enter this command
ls -lrt /var/www/html/openemr

The /openemr folder contains all the files involved with the program. I just installed 5.0.0 about a week ago, so everything should be up to date. I am at a loss as to why I do not have permission to move my own files.

Thanks for the help. Using the sudo command opened up the file.
