Adding meds to an encounter

Situation
Describe your problem here
Is it necessisary to have the inventory module active in order to add meds to an encounter? I have looked through the wiki and other documentation and I am unable to figure it out?

This occures for Allergies, Surgeries, and Diagnosis.

Is there any public db that can be used to populate the meds list instead of having to enter manually that anyone has/is using? This way one could search and select the med from drop down.

Could this be a permissions condition (ACL) that is preventing the action?

Medications are associated with the patient (patient → issues → medications) just as encounter records are. During an encounter a medication may be referenced as documented in encounter header. Your reference to inventory module needs some additional description to understand the basic issue here.

If you just want list of all patient medications to be included in encounter, you can check New features / improvements - #22 by mdsupport as an option.
