Access issues help

I downloaded the open EMR today successfully but have some issues afterward:

1- After I went through local host installation, it appears I didn’t change the first and last name as admin to my first and last name so in the open EMR, it show the name as admin/admin not my first and last name, how can I fix it?

2- After couple hour when I went to click on openEMR on my desktop bookmark, I couldn’t open the login page anymore and say the localhost can’t be reached and blocked!

3- If I want to open the openEMR on my laptop do or other office computer, do I need to go through the download process all over again for each computer? and localhost installation steps again? then login under my username and password?

Thanks,

Amer

Hello @Amer_Aladin

  1. If you are talking about the user first and last name in the user profile

you should be able to simply change the names to suit and click ‘SAVE’ at top left. The username is not editable, of course.

  1. You do not say what type of desktop bookmark you made. Your OpenEMR should be located in the web server you created in your desktop computer with the process of installing it locally. You will have to make sure the web server process (? apache on yours?) is running when you try to log in, and the URL leads to the localhost webroot directory.
  2. If your web server is correctly set up you should be able to surf to the localhost webroot from other network- connected computers in the office using an internal IP address. This part of it will be different depending on your OS and version. It is not my strong suit so look in the OpenEMR wiki, modifying this query to suit:
Search results for "web server installation" - OpenEMR Project Wiki

or when you find out what specific questions to ask, come back here to the forum for more answers.
Good luck!

Hi Amer,
it would be best to install openemr on a live web server if u want to access it on different computers. Thats what i have done…

You can install it on ur computer also to experiment with it. But for official use u must have it installed on a web server to access it from different computers.

You can use digital ocean or something like that , its stable, secure and fast and price is ok.
