We have upgraded our old version to openemr 5.0. We use Emdeon/Change Healthcare for claim processing and we manually create the claims in Emdeon portal. We are planning to use the X12 file generation feature of Openemr and submit 837 files to the clearing house.
Has anyone done this before? With Emdeon or with any other clearing house? Did anyone face any issues in the submitted 837 files? Any insights into the known issues/showstoppers or any suggestions would be of great help.

hi sugo, sure, it’s really straightforward to setup in the administration->practice->x12 partners, you’ll need emdeon’s ids for those fields there

Thank you for the response. We had setup the required values and x12 partner details. But before switching from the manual process to submission, I wanted to check if anyone faced any issues after switching.

Hey, no. The option they are currently giving is the file upload option- each time generating the 837 file and then manually uploading the file in their portal. We are exploring other possible options so that the process is completely automated but haven’t got an answer from them yet. If you used their sftp server, kindly let me know the details of it.
