I am trying to install this on a new hosted linux server with JustHost.com. Reading through the documentation the install package tells me to run localhost to complete the install after unzipping the tar file. I do not know how to get to the localhost account as there is no remote desktop like in windows only SSH. I researched connection options but there are so many different options I am lost. How do I remote into a linux installation with a GUI RDP client to complete the setup? Please help thank you!
As per our understanding, you need to install Openemr on new hosted linux server,JustHost.com and you have downloaded the tar file and extracted the same in linux server machine.
Since the openemr is deployed in the remote machine, you can use either the domain name or IP address to access the application.
See to that openemr folder has the execute permission. Access the openemr application from weburl. For instance justhost.com/openemr or ipaddress/openemr and you can able to continue with the installation.
Justhost will provide you with a userid and logon to your main account which is used to access all the features (database, domain management, website, etc.). It is similar (but different) to the web based setup in Network Solutions and GoDaddy. The first time through a setup can be a bit intimidating but, with persistence, you can get it done.
Some restrict access to FTP (but you mentioned SSH above so it will be easier) which makes it more difficult. Read through the help files and forum (at Justhost) and once you get logged in with SSH the steps are outlined in the OpenEMR instructions.
If you run into a problem, send an email and we can walk you through some of the steps.
