Justin,
Yes. We paid the domain registration.
We have been physically moving our offices. The DNS servers are now pointing at the new office and we are physically transporting the servers. Should be up by morning.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Sam,
Not a problem. just a bit inconvenient, as I just dumped some stuff I was working on (and therefore want to show co-workers) out of my personal wiki, and into yours.

Justin; Speaking of which, I think Brady asked you to set me up on the Wiki, but I have heard nothing further, and my tries to get it to send me my password seem to be going to never-neverland, rather than my email address. Help?

Just so you all know, the wiki is getting more than 150 unique visitors a day (most are new), so the quicker the better.
Joe,
Have you been getting my emails. Jason, not Justin is dealing with this.

hey,
Can we get an ETA on the sites going back up? The hassle to the current developers is minimal. However, the most damage is lost potential users/developers. This will cut sourceforge’s daily downloads by more than half, and lose out on about 200 unique daily visitors to the site; the google analytics graphs for the last day is a sad site. Drink some coffee over there and get it done.

Justin; Sorry about my confusion. Like the Wiki, I am not working quite right
Brady; I believe I am getting all your direct mail and that sent from the various threads, all of which come to my im@holzerent dot com address. But I still do not get any of the password postings supposedly sent (requested repeatedly, I assure you) to me.
Jason; So obviously, there is something wrong with the wiki emailer or with the settings on my account. But the net result is that the instructions I have prepared cannot be posted to help others.

hey,
Still waiting on an ETA for this? Today, Tomorrow?
Some intriguing information while our wiki/website is down:
Every 14.4 minutes the wiki/website is down, a potential user is unable to download OpenEMR (possibly causing a severe depression leading to a suicide attempt)
Every 7.2 minutes the wiki/website is down, a unique user is unable to get information from our wiki/website (possibly causing a severe anxiety attack leading to a suicide attempt)

Well, I understand what it is like to try and move an office. Been there. Done that. Got the Tee Shirt.
But, it is inconvenient to have the documentation unavailable. I’m trying to get my new office open on Monday, and there are still a few things I don’t have working yet…I’d be glad to be able to look up stuff on the Wiki…
Happy New Year, all. Especially those who are trying to fix this issue.

Dear All.
We have been working on this for a couple of days and are having firewall issues. Not sure whether it is really our problem or Charter Communications. We may just switch everything over to Embarq since that connection is definitely working. Switching anything with Charter Communications is somewhat like prodding a large deaf dinosaur.
The good news is that the new location is a tier III data center with triple redundant power supply to servers, dual redundant power to the air conditioning, all on a natural gas operated emergency power generator. Charter Communications is allegedly the dual broadband access to the internet. It’s just a little hard to convince anybody of that right now, including me ;-).

Sounds like the improvement will be worth the wait.
We used to have Charter Cable here until a year ago, when they sold out to Suddenlink. They’re just as bad, if not worse. I’ve been struggling with them to get service dropped into the new office for nearly a month…they finally got it done day before yesterday, after I called and prodded them at least a dozen times.
Happy New Year!

We had to abandon the Charter Communications connection and have switched over to Embarq. Sorry, about the inconvenience.
http://oemr.org/ is still down because we are waiting for Charter Communications to adjust their settings. This likely won’t happen till Monday.
All of the wiki content and content at http://oemr.org/ has been frozen and has already already been migrated to http://openmedsoftware.org/. There is new content at http://openmedsoftware.org/ that is not available on the old wiki. I think we need to rename the official project web page to http://openmedsoftware.org to reflect the reality that exists with the new WikiMedia wiki.

I have put in a web redirect of oemr.org to openmedsoftware.org, bypassing Charter and using my registrar’s DNS. This is still pending but should be effective soon.
bradymiller wrote on Saturday, January 02, 2010:
hey,
I agree with Rod gettting oemr.org to work for now, but would go back to the previous oemr.org site when possible, Sam. Going by the google analytics site and google rankings still need mroe time for openmedsoftware.org to mature via the manual redirections provided by oemr.org. If you bypass oemr.org now, then we’ll lose lots of search hits via oemr.org. I hope I am explaining myself well. I’ll also continue to offer to you to see for yourself the google analytics results of these sites (it’s very easy to share if you have a google account); if you look through this it’s obvious the current linking from oemr.org to openmedsoftware.org is working very well (ie. users clicking on a specific subject in oemr.org are easily re-directed to that information on openmedsoftware.org.
This is just my opinion, but I also think a wiki page should not be a home page; just rather unprofessional. The home page should be a flashy internationalized page with multiple links to the wiki.
Joe, I was trying to make light of the situation Sam’s been volunteering to do this server task for years, so I didn’t want to be too harsh.

Thanks Rod,
This should help.
Brady,
I did not intend for this to happen in this way. Working with Charter Communicaitons is not easy and is very beurocratic. Our lease was up at the old office at midnight on 12-31-2009. We had to move the servers before the transfer to the new facility was fully complete or other wise lose the servers to some much-less-than-friendly landlords. We do however, live in Hickory, NC and my options here are limited at times. We are looking at replacing Charter Communications for the fiberoptic cable into our facility.
Sincerely, with apologies for any inconvenience.

I agree with Brady, we should development a new home page that would be the launch pad. It’s really needed if we what a good place for a paypal donations page and control over Vendor listing and Certification tracking, I think.
