Why was an "Active" flag added to lists?

Just curious, Users complain about the amount of clicking that has to be done as it stands now. Now they have to click active when they add something to lists.

Hi Terry,

The primary motivator for this was the Race list, which has a huge amount of items, but only several are used on a standard installation. Note it is a useful feature in this case because It allowed the bringing in of a list of codified items(note the HL7-V3 Concept Code column on the Race list), while then only selecting the ones that wish to use for a particular installation. Note that inactive means it will not show on the selector, however if an inactive element is already set iin the database for a patient, then it will still map it and show the item when it is displayed.

If the extra click is a problem, could always set the empty rows to have the check box toggled on by default.

Race & language are MU requirements.

Using the default check box works well & saves a lot of clicking when setting up a patient account. We also use it for state.
