Hello fellows,
I’m investigating the e-prescription feature in the open EMR and my understanding of e-Rx is we are simply submitting the Rx to druggist electronically.
I also found some external resources ALL scripts , Sure scripts and NewCrop(SureScripts reseller) do we really need to work with them or we can simply develop our own.
Ravi,
You can develop your own interface to Surescripts, but the cost and certification criteria are very high ($20K and up). You can do it cheaper thru a reseller such as NewCrop <$5K not including development costs>
Easier just to subscribe through one on the several NewCrop resellers listed, my company is one of them.
Neither SureScripts or NewCrop will work directly with Physicians, only certified EMR resellers.
I checked that in my default open EMR under Administration> Globals there is a settings for NewCrop account but I can’t find from where I would get them.
Any idea for test credentials so i can check the full functionality and also can show to my client.
The only way to get the interface credentials to to subscribe to the service through one of the Vendors. There is no test environment (I wish there was, but New Crop does not provide that outside of the Vendor/Developer agreement).
