Hi,

For the 10/17/15 conference call (note these are not official notes; just going from memory):

Attendees: Brady, Stephen, Terry

Pretty much discussed billing the entire time.

Discussed important of having a way to assign a Guarantor for a patient. Terry plans to discuss this with the community.

Also discussed the separate but mostly redundant Checkout and Payment screens, and if it made sense to try to consolidate these into one gui; and perhaps making this gui part of the new ledger feature.

Until next weekā€¦

Sorry I was not able to attend. Just one comment: Checkout and Payment screens are not redundant. Payment is for payments that happen before or after checkout time. Checkout is to close the visit, apply adjustments/discounts and take whatever payment is made at that time.

Checkout is very important for sites that are not concerned with insurance and is also valuable for the receipt that it produces. A lot of work has gone into it.

Donā€™t forget we added a Wednesday at 4pm call. Iā€™ve been on it, but so
far no one else.

Hi,

For the 11/14/15 conference call (note these are not official notes; just going from memory):

Attendees: Brady, Stephen, Terry

MU2:
Getting closer with about 7 items to test and, in theory, only some more coding needed for 1 item (AMC calculations).

PQRS:
Discussed this and seems to be more important to customers than MU2 at this point.

PHP7:
PHP7 is likely going to be released in several weeks. We discussed the information on this thread: https://sourceforge.net/p/openemr/discussion/202506/thread/5d2ff17e/

User Interface:
Current project is looking very nice with minimal changes to the codebase and also supports the older themes. See here for more details: https://sourceforge.net/p/openemr/discussion/202506/thread/53f41e90/

ACL to control access to reports:
Stephen discussed this project.

SNOMED:
Currently working on migrating to use the RF2 releases rather than the RF1 releases(RF1 releases will be deprecated in about a year).
Also need to change wordage on the the SNOMED instructions in OpenEMR to instead direct users to the international SNOMED website rather than the US SNOMED website for licensing reasons.

Sourceforge issues:
Sourceforge forum and the OpenEMR website (hosted on sourceforge) both went down during the conference call. It may be time to migrate the website to a commercial website(such as Godaddy.com) or a vendor to ensure 100% uptime(either way, it seems OEMR could pay this cost, which should be minimal). The requirements will be https support and ease of ssh login via a certificate(to allow easy update and backup)(note that Godaddy.com is a serious pain regarding the ssh/certificate login, so I think we should not consider them).

Until next timeā€¦

Forgot to mention the following item that was discussed at the 11/14/15 conference call:

Next OpenEMR Release:
This has been dependent on MU2 certification. There are many new features in OpenEMR, so donā€™t want to wait too long.

If OpenEMR gets full MU2 certification gets full certification by end of year, then plan to push out a quick release entitled 4.3.0 (Need to go to 4.3.x since certification changes).

If full MU2 certification does not happen by end of year, then plan to release after year end a release entitle 4.2.1 (Need to keep 4.2.x to keep modular certification).

Because the next OpenEMR version number is not known, it does make it more difficult to prepare. My thought is to prepare for 4.2.1 on the wiki docs (and if needed, can quickly easily rename(via ā€˜Moveā€™) the wiki pages to 4.3.0 if needed). If anybody is interested in helping to work on the release documentation (steps 3 and 6 on below link), that would be very helpful:

Hi,

For the 11/21/15 conference call (note these are not official notes; just going from memory):

Attendees: Art, Brady

Discussed the CDR engine, CQM rules, and the internationalization project.

Also discussed the mechanism for how encounters are mapped to categories (such as ā€˜Office Visitsā€™), which are used in the AMC and CQM calculations:
Here is the mysql table that maps encounter categories (which are used in the cqm/amc rule engine):
enc_category_map
To get an idea how the enc_category_map table can be used, here are some examples:

Currently, modification of the enc_category_map needs to be done manually in the database. Would make a lot of sense to have this option in the Administration->Lists->ā€˜Clinical Rules Encounter Typesā€™ (by placing a multiselect selector to allow mapping of categories to the Encounter Types).

Until next timeā€¦

Brady, I dialed the conf. number at 2pm EST. Did the call start late?

Hi John,
Thatā€™s very odd. The call started on time at 11:00 AM PST(which is 2pm EST). The only thing I can think of is maybe used a different conference id.

Hi,

For the 12/05/15 conference call (note these are not official notes; just going from memory):

Attendees: Brady, John

PHP7:
Johnā€™s group is working on this stuff and just committed work on this into the codebase today. Here is a summary of ongoing plan:
https://sourceforge.net/p/openemr/discussion/202506/thread/5d2ff17e#06ec

UI improvements:
Johnā€™s group is working on this and itā€™s looking very nice:
https://sourceforge.net/p/openemr/discussion/202506/thread/53f41e90/
Can be demoā€™d here:
http://www.open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/Development_Demo#192.168.1.131

MU2:
Work by ZH was just committed to the codebase to complete items b1,b4,b7. Itā€™s probably about time to click the MU2 panic button, since there is only 3 weeks left before the deadline (I am assuming the testing folks will go on holiday for the last week of the year). Hereā€™s the most updated barometer:
http://www.open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/OpenEMR_Certification_Stage_II_Meaningful_Use#Completion_Barometer
The only item which appear to require coding is the AMC calculations, which Brady is working on.

Billing:
Johnā€™s group is considering Billing improvements early next year after the UI and PHP7 stuff is completed, which would be awesome!

Until next timeā€¦

Hi,

For the 12/12/15 conference call (note these are not official notes; just going from memory):

Attendees: Brady, Sherwin

Drag n Drop Document Code:
Sherwin submitted this for review awhile ago. After MU2, plan to get this back in the review queue:

Behavior Module:
Sherwin is working on this and sounds promising.

Next Release:
Plan a ā€œquickā€ release before 1/1/16. The version will be dependent on what is required for MU2 certification. Not sure how to increment version if we do another modular certification. Plan to discuss with Tony.

UI improvements:
Johnā€™s group is working on this and itā€™s looking very nice:

MU2:
This wasnā€™t discussed. But the MU2 panic button has been pressed, and things are moving. Getting complete certification by 1/1/16 will not be feasible, but focusing on getting as much done as possible before then and considering another modular certification prior to 1/1/16. Hereā€™s the most updated barometer:
