Vitals Permission/Access

Hi All,

I was trying to create receptionists which would only be able to access the patients’ appointment/scheduling/demographics/etc information (No clinical information), but I saw that the reception user group is able to view the patients’ vitals. I was wondering if there was any way to prevent them from seeing that information. I tried using the ACL system, including the phpGACL, but I could not get down to the level of vitals information.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,
I’d consider this a bug, which can be fixed easily. I’ll place this in my queue (will control it by the same acl that controls the Clinical/Patient Reminder widgets).

Hi,

Just committed fix for this to sourceforge:
http://github.com/openemr/openemr/commit/e1d5f12f0772a42c871bc79b180c3a078a5d620c

Also plan to include this in the next 4.1.0 patch.

Thanks!

When I replaced the old file with this one, however, even the administrator is not able to see the vitals. All that is shown (for both admin, and front office) is a simple rotating .gif file. Is there something additional we should do besides just replacing the file?

Thanks again.

Hi,
Sounds like broken, because there have been other changes to this file previously. Need to install the most recent patch to get this feature: http://www.open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/OpenEMR_Patches
