Vitals form privileges

Hi everyone,

Is there a way to allow front office staff to access the vitals form? In the practice I work in, the front office staff does that as well as input patient demographics and insurance info.

The forms are encounter specific, so only an "authorized" user has acccess to it. However, I do not want to "authorize" the front desk staff as it gives them too much rights.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,

Because ‘forms’ are directly tied to ‘encounters’ then your front-office staff will need full access to ‘encounters’ which also grants them access to some other features as well.

Here’s just one suggestion from the top of my head.

Edit the demographics form. Enter the Admin section of OpenEMR, choose Layouts, choose Demographics. Now, add a new group and name it ‘Vitals’. Then add fields to that group.

Once that is done, your front-office staff can enter a patient’s vitals into the demographics of a new patient.

This is far from optimal but might be a satisfactory solution for you.
