Validating numbers in layout forms

Hi,

Is there a way to validate numbers in fields created in layout forms? I used the PHQ9 form referred to in a question about Mental Health Forms to create a PHQ9 and PHQ4 Questionnaire. I would like to be able to enter numbers and validate them. Right now I just created a list with numbers assigned to the values in a textbox. For example
List is
0-Not at all
1-Somedays…
2-More than half the days
3-Several days

I would like to have the numbers in separate fields and given the numbers either assign the value and then sum up the total. If the total is greater than 9 then to flag it for review.

Any help would be appreciated. If I can do that I can apply the same knowledge to the PHQ4 form.

Another neat thing would be to trend the patient’s progress over time if they are being treated. I tried using the graph option, but it did not work consistently and I noticed in one of the threads someone said it would not work in layout forms.

Thanks,

Joyce

PS: I should have put this in the Help Forum. Sorry. I will create a new thread there.
