User Interface CSS changes

Has anyone had a crack at changing the CSS to make the OEMR look better.  If you have do you mind posting them so that we can see how oemr can look.   I have a designer currently creating a mock-up based on the new layout, I’ll post it once it is done.

thanks,

Phillip

you can create the image-base JavaScript to replace the tree-menu JavaScript on the left main menu - and make each sub menu are called out properly

hope it helps

What I have seen is that the overall look and feel has stayed somewhat the same and we wanted to see if there is interest in making changes to it.
Here are some css changes we did to 3.1  http://creativemindworks.net/eblast/oemr/CSS_changes.jpg
Here is a first mockup for 4.0  http://creativemindworks.net/eblast/oemr/mockup4.0.jpg

erealgroup,

Really nice! It’s like a cross between eClinicalWorks and OpenBravo’s GUI…

I personally like the the icons in v3.1 and love the overall layout for 4.0

When are you expecting release?

erealgroup wrote on Wednesday, April 07, 2010:

v3.1 we have coded…but for v4.0 we will just start looking at the code maybe next week.  I’ll post back when we have something to show.

thanks,

Phillip

erealgroup,

Very nice! Are you going to release the code for v3.1?

Looks awesome!!

Will this visual enhancement work well for those that use the “old style” layout (menu at the top)?  We use the top menu view as it maximizes screen real estate.

Yes, we will release what we have for 3.1.
For now we have only worked with the side navigation.

Phillip

Yes, Yes, Great, Cool, Neat and Wow.

When?

I see references to 3.1 but what about 3.2?

Thanks,

In the 4.0 model (which look very nice), don’t forget that the title bar carriers the links to the Active Patient AND the active encounter so you can get back to them with one click.   So, in your design make sure there is room for those links

We should consider also including critical medical data from the title bar like Allergies in a Active Patient Context, as well.  Looking forward to seeing this in action!

This looks like a new OpenEMR product. Maybe we should handle it like that too. A lot of users are used to the Shining Sun / Moon of OpenEMR and are used to the upper menu, the tree or dot directories.

Whatever said, keep up the good work and my suggestion would be to go with inclusion in the GLOBAL functionality to activate and make it all rounbd available available in V4.0 with the option to choose for a directory form of the past. This complete new look should have the honor to be included in a NEW version!

Great to see all these nice changes. It is like medicine, it makes you feel a lot beter after visiting the doctor,  even if you haven’t taken the prescription to the pharmacy jet.

any updates on the release of these css changes?

erealgroup wrote on Thursday, April 22, 2010:

We have started to work on 4.0 and should have it done in about 3-4 weeks.   We are fitting it into our current work schedule.
As for 3.1, which we have been using is done, but only side navigation works. Does someone here want to review the code and take over whatever is needed to submit.

thanks,

Phillip

Please post the 3.1 code as a diff -u patch file on the Tracker Code Review and I’ll check it out and see if can be ported to 3.2 easily as well.
