Uploaded Documents Not Found

Hello OpenEMR community!

I’m having an issue viewing uploaded documents. The documents uploaded to a patient’s chart are not visible in the Administration>Practice>Documents screen. After selecting “Update files” the result of “No Documents Found” is given. Not an entirely big deal, but it would be nice to have access to all of my uploaded material in one place as opposed to going to each individual chart. Does anyone know of a potential cause for this? Am I mistaken as to the purpose of this screen? No issues elsewhere, really. Everything else seems to be working fine.

Also, I want to give a big thanks to all of you that have put your time and effort into the creation and maintenance of this piece of software. I’ve been through a lot in trying to setup an EMR system for our office and once I found out about the open source option, it was a no-brainer. I very much look forward to becoming an active part of this community!

I don’t believe that is a working “feature”.  I do believe that using it would take a long time to index if you had say 1000+ patients with 1mb or more of documents each.  I believe this is either legacy code or something that is incomplete/broken and was not worth fixing.  This might be because of security concerns or just the fact that the list of documents it would generate would be as overly large, unmanageable, and useless as a cyberhoarder’s e-mail inbox.  Too hard to get information from an unending list, y’know?
I would suggest accessing your server to view the patient files “all at once”, but if you accidentally tinkered with them you might orphan the files from the database.

Thanks for the response, Art. That’s exactly what I was looking for. I will just leave it be for now.
