Can you provide more description of the os, db and installation check list you are following?

From Quick Launch, icons suggest Windows Vista or 7.

What is the reason not to install the XAMPP-4.1.2 package or install it on another drive/in a virtual machine? Installing the package would be easier than troubleshooting at the MySQL webpage.

Page 1 of a search for Step 3 (use numeral, not word) will yield a number of relevant threads.

Hi Mdsupport,

Thanks! for the reply.

M using Windows 7, MySql 6.0, Apache 2.2 and PHP 5

I followed the installation procedure described on the open emr download and installation page (www.open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/OpenEMR_4.1.2_Windows_Installation)

After I enter localhost in my browser I get the following page

From here I select setup.php, I could pass through the first and second page instantly but the third page just gets stuck.

Does this have to do something with the creation of tables in the db, where I would have to increase the memory size?

Appreciate your help!!

Thanks,
Tanuj

Hi Fsgl,

I tried installing XAMPP-4.1.2, but it would give a lot of error and wont start up.

Hence I installed them separately.

Thanks,
Tanuj

Would suggest that you download and save the package, check the MD5 sum and try again. Follow the instructions to the letter.

More efficient to work out the package install problem than it is for the separate installations. Describe in detail, difficulties encountered and post errors if they occur again with the package install.

Note that XAMPP 1.8.2 has PHP 5.4.16, MySQL 5.5.32, Apache 2.4.4 & phpMyAdmin 4.0.4. If you are going to try installing XAMPP separately from OpenEMR, use 1.8.2. It is not susceptible to the Heartbleed OpenSSL bug and is compatible with OpenEMR.

Here is a tutorial. Even though the title is about updating, the process is essentially the same as for a fresh install. Far easier to install XAMPP together than the components individually.
