UI in the vitals form

The current UI forces the user to enter numbers or values.  Isn’t it easier for users to use the up/down/left/right arrow keys as a slider to fill the textfields with (predefined) values, at least.

The biggest problem I have is that fields don’t fall into a natural order of vital signs. The current tab order interferes with movement between fields.  The order would be:

sitting systolic blood pressure
sitting diastolic blood pressure
pulse
respirations
temperature
weight
height
BMI (should be calculated based on the entered weight and height)
Additional notes

Then additional standing BP, supine BP

The four fields labeled systolic and diastolic should probably be removed.

We need to able to graph each of these values.

I would have to see how the slider works.

This may not be related to Vital form.
How can I add a form called lab form which may look like the vital but it will list lab values such as , LDL, A1c, Glucose ,etc.
Thanks!

Hi,

This would be a nice feature. Suggest placing this in the ‘Feature Request’ tracker here on sourceforge, so we don’t lose track of this feature request:

A while ago I wanted to tell about Vitals and that you can not enter data previous measurements/ earlier date,  what is very sad. Many patients can come up with previous measurments. How hard is it to get this implemented in Version 4.1! or did I miss the mails about a solution?

Hi Pimm,

Was quickly discussed here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/openemr/forums/forum/202504/topic/4674684

This would likely be really easy to add(and I agree useful, since in some clinical situations it’s common for vitals to be entered some time after they are taken), but simply a matter of minimal volunteer resources. Also, not something that would do before the 4.1 release in case it opens any bugs up; but could be added to a 4.1 patch later on if tests well in the development branch. If no developers take this on, then recommend placing this as a Feature Request in the tracker.
