Translating CCR and CCD

I try to translate these documents (CCD and CCR) in Finnish, but it looks like I don’t find the place where I should make the translations. Some of the translations of constants are handled by db, but there is plenty of documents that are hard coded – why?

Must say that localizing OpenEMR in non-US enviroment is sometimes just pure hell. In some parts the code is just like a pot of noodles.

Feel free to start translating in the Translation Spreadsheet. If that is impossible, why not try to teach people English? This might be more convenient. Having said this, Google translate is of great help.

If you translate FORMS do not translate everything enclosed in xl(xxx) or xa(xxx… etc. since these are in the Brady-Translation sheet.

I just checked the Spreadsheet and to my surprise there is no Finish column in the spreadsheet. So if you are serious and want to make the option Finish translation possible we can include also your language.

I’ve translated already about 2/3 of all the constants and I’ve been discussing with Brady that I should get my permission to do the translation work with that Google spreadsheet. But still waiting.

The other thing is, that some of the definitions cant be translated by editing the definitions – those are hard coded inside the code documents. That is really driving me nuts. It is very hard to follow the path and try to find from all these .php, .html., .inc and .xsl documents that witch is the one that matters – I’d like to rework those documents that has something to do with layout – for ex. CCR and CCD do look totally different in Finnish medical standards. I try to make OpenEMR meet the Finnish standards of medical documents.

OK your Finnish is in the spreadsheet Language column 40 next to dummy language. No Joke in this. Just some patience and Brady can give you permission to include all Definitions. Just go for 100%… nothing less!!!

Some things are not-translatable because the wording for medicine in Finland are used a different way. I choose to keep the English standard if I did not have the correct translation. After this we might have another project making the CCR and CCD forms into a automatic translation form with the use of xl( ) and more of this.

If you want to be sure it is not translated, you can use the Dummy language. everything that is not Dummy needs to get special translation code.

Keep on joking, we all need a good laugh now and then.

CCR/CCD is a bit tough to translate (so has not been done) since they are from standardized xml templates that are US centric.
