Hi All,

I am a new OpenEMR user and try to study the system in the software engineering perspective. I downloaded the OpenEMR package and studied the Wiki trying to find the system design documents like test cases or any design artefacts. But so far I only find the document like user manual or how to set up the develop environment.
Because I am totally new and it’s hard for me to study the source code without knowing the system architecture.
Therefore, I would like to know is there any design document available online which illustrate the system structure or design process? Or can anyone tell me which document I can study as the entry point to understand the system design?

Hi,  sorry to say there are no documents of that nature.  This is a open source project and, as such, has been … organically grown.  There is an older database scheme doc that is helpful on the wiki.

There are FAQs about various sub systems and a good group of folks on this list to answer specific questions.
