System admin rights for an existing project/creating new users

Hello everyone, I inherited a simulation from a colleague that left my organization, and the simulation includes OpenEMRedu as an integral component. We are in the middle of the soft rollout of this simulation, and it was discovered that no one currently at the organization knows how to create new accounts for users in OpenEMRedu. I’m assuming that system admin rights are necessary to do this. I would appreciate any advice on how to proceed, as this has been a major roadblock for educators to use the simulation. I am not a programmer (more of an epidemiologist/biostatistician). Thank you in advance for your help/advice.

hi @eyjimenez ,

You can create new users in OpenEMR at Administration->Users

Thank you! I’ve now been able to send invitation e-mails - however, when you click on “accept,” you get an error message saying the invitation token provided is not valid. There is a workaround - you can go in and create an account using the “forgot password” option, but I think this may be confusing for the educators we are working with - any tips to fix this issue?

hi @eyjimenez ,

I don’t think OpenEMR send invitation emails when create users in Administration->Users. Can you let us know the steps you are specifically taking in OpenEMR?

thanks,

Ok, this may have been something on our end that was added in, that still had some issues? When I click on “users,” “new user,” the screen that opens up is titled “Send invitation” and asks for participant first name, last name and e-mail, and whether the new user should be an admin, instructor or student. You then click a button labeled “send an invitation” which triggers the e-mail invite. Thanks! Beth

hi @eyjimenez ,
This definitely is not part of standard OpenEMR, so difficult to help on this. Is this code public anywhere and I could then take a quick look at it?
