# RxNorm installation error message

I follow the instructions

Steps to install/upgrade the RxNorm database

1-&nbsp; Copy the zipped RxNorm database file into the ‘contrib/rxnorm’ directory (this file can be downloaded from [http://www.nlm.nih.gov/research/umls/rxnorm/docs/rxnormfiles.html;](http://www.nlm.nih.gov/research/umls/rxnorm/docs/rxnormfiles.html%3B) note you’ll need to get an account and that only the Full Monthly Releases currently work)

&nbsp; 2- In OpenEMR, go to Administration-\>Other-\>RxNorm in order to then install/upgrade the RxNorm database.

3- press install button and get the following

Fatal error: Class ‘ZipArchive’ not found in /home/abemr/public\_html/openemr/library/standard\_tables\_capture.inc on line 46

Your php installation seems to be missing the Zip extension.  
How to address this issue depends on your OS and your php version.
