Hello, I’m a med student at the University of Chicago and am helping to digitize the patient record keeping at a student run free ped’s clinic. We’re strongly considering using OpenEMR but we need the following feature which may or may not be possible with this software (hopefully it is).
Our clinic is not (at the moment) intended to be a permanent medical home (PMH) for our patients. Rather, we’re kind of a stopgap measure for many families without insurance who don’t yet have a PMH. When we get a new patient, we help them to find a PMH at one of the local federally funded clinics in the area. This requires a lot of phone calls both to the patient and the clinic confirming appointments, calling the patient on the day of the appointment as a reminder, and finally a follow up call to see how the appointment went. We would like to be able to generate a report for a given day containing all the patients who need to be called along with an associated explanation for the purpose of the call. Is there a creative way we could use what exists in OpenEMR to handle this for us?
Thanks,
Jonathan
