Dear all i wanted to know form you that if i have to upgarde my open emr from a lower version to current version which is (open emr 4.1.2) then i have to follow a step by step procedure like from version 3.0.1 to 3.1.0 then from 3.1.0 to 3.2.0 etc then finally to 4.1.2?? or can i upgarde directly from 3.0.1 to 4.1.2 through nay kind of migration script please do provide your views on this will be a great help.
In theory, should be able to do in one swoop. What OS are you using and if using ubuntu what directory is OpenEMR installed in (if you happen to have it installed on ubuntu and OpenEMR is in a certain directory, then the upgrade will be very easy). Very important to backup your system also (and considering working on a testing system first) before embarking on the upgrade also.
If not using ubuntu, then best to follow the instructions going from “3.2.0 to 4.0.0”, but use 4.1.2 instead of 4.0.0: http://www.open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/OpenEMR_Upgrade_Guides
(The reason why going from 3.2.0 to 4.0.0 is an important step is because some directories get moved around per the instructions)
