Clinically, data should be preserved for about seven years from origin of most recent entry. Therefore i have found the ‘inactivate’ choice in another program to b a more desireable way to thin out active vs inactive and deceased pts and yet preserve their data as long as necessary. (ob and peds r looking at 18-21 years of storage).
