Just a couple of comments…
The coding part of this is already addressed by the Fee Sheet encounter form, which is table-driven and so easily customizable.
Offhand I would say they are trying to put too much functionality into a single form.
Also I’m not sure it’s practical to make the onscreen form look like the printed form. With all of those billing and diagnosis codes you’ll do an awful lot of scrolling around to find things and check them off. That’s why the Fee Sheet uses dropdowns.
Good luck!

hehe oh i agree I’d love to use the fee sheet …
but i believe since the company is just branching into emr they are bending over backwards to please the customers and make the transition a little more pleasant.
they want the emr to be able to print the document the doctor uses with all the customer info on it.
before the visit
then after the visit or durring the doctor circles the codes and gives it to the biller. who then selects the same codes the form what the doctor circled.
dang doctors don’t want to leave the paper behind hehe.
I’m borrowing a lot of code from different places in the program. all the functionality is in openemr. My job is to just order it to the customers request.
I will comment where i got what and from whom.
