Can we change the “Signature on file” on box 31 for the provider’s name who actually treating the patient?
Sincerely,
Ray

The spec says this must be an actual signature, or “Signature On File” or “SOF”.
If you must, you can hack on library/gen_hcfa_1500.inc.php. But I’d give the payer hell about it first.

Well what we need is actually the provider name and underneat we applied his/her signature.

Rod;
I agree. Our Medicare payer, NGS, insists on having the date in 31, despite their OWN form stating it is not needed! Another example of “We’re the government and you’re not!”

BTW, the way we did that was to reduce the indent count for the 32a NPI and print as $date.$npi
