Hello Again OpenEMR Community
Absent on these forums since the days of MU-1, I’m pleased to see the new & efficient OEMR management closing in on MU-2. Today I’m involved in fighting waste, fraud and abuse (WFA) in healthcare - a big & complex challenge.
One WFA management approach under consideration is requiring certain providers to send a monthly report of all new prescription records to a WFA warehouse, via MU-2 standard CDA documents and Direct Messaging. I.e., one CDA per patient containing all new/updated prescription records. Upon receipt, the WFA warehouse would process the prescription records against payor billing records, producing a discrepancy report.
For due diligence, I invite questions, comments, critique & suggestions on this proposed WFA management method from the OpenEMR community. Will it work? What are the risks?
Certified OpenEMR developers are encouraged to propose an end-to-end solution: OpenEMR patient prescription reporting —> WFA warehouse processing. Proposers may contact me at john.b.williams@gmail.com
Thanks, John
