Pref category in Provider scheduling

I’m also confused by this ‘Pref Cat:’ selection in the add appt popup of calendar in the ‘Provide’ tab. The Title when mouseover i is: Preferred Event Category.

Also, odd, that if you choose something, then the ‘Find Available’ popup no longers returns any available appointments.

Does anybody know what this is for?
