Are there any projects that are focused on extending OpenEMR functionality to facilitate the needs of post-acute healthcare providers? I’m very interested in contributing to any of those projects, as the post-acute provider community in the US is really struggling with their EHR options. A couple of big players control the market and they squeeze the small margins that providers have to operate with, and they’re really slow to innovate and improve the software for their users.
Unsure if/how questionnaires and assessments impact this but this is something I’m working currently.
too bad the Inpatient OpenEMR concept hasn’t gathered enough steam to get into active development, seems it could provide a lot of inpatient functionality to a SNF/ otherwise post-acute setting.
