Download the Linux version of OpenEMR in Tar or gzip but LINUX! Place the Linux tar file in the subdirectory where cPanel puts all the programs. Next thing to do is unpack. cPanel doe s the unpack for you if needed, but follow your Linux OpenEMR version instructions.
Follow the instructions of a normal install under Linux or Ubuntu. I can’t remember if you have to install the MySQLDatabase seperately or that is is included in the install process. Remember to check what the Login and Password are for OpenEMR AND for the MySQL Database. If you have to install the Database seperately than be sure to make the correct database during install process of OpenEMR.
My version gives a special name for all databases starting with my ow Login name for my WebServer, pieterw_Mysql Database etc…
Login with your WebServerURL followed by OpenEMR, so probably your Directory has to be renamed into openemr… there you go.
If you want to have some more safety precautions put the OpenEMR directory and all the files in another sub-Directory.

Next is to put the patch in the openemr directory and load the latest patch if needed and run the patch update file.
Be sure to keep a printed version of the install and update file of OpenEMR at hand and to follow the steps one after another. Linux is Capital sensitive, so you have to follow the naming processes as stipulated with the correct letters.
