Phone number missing in patient form

Why the phone# textfield is missing in the “new patient” form?  When the front desk can’t retrieve names,  they usually try or switch to phone numbers.

Do you mean in the "Find Patient"? Because the phone number is in the Demographics sections.

The normal working order is just to create the new patient and then to go immediately into demographics, add the phone number, address and other info.  It’s a two step process.

It’s okay for a practice application.  But, if a user is creating new patients every day/hour, then it is not recommened to have a two step process both from user point of view and training.   We can live with this for now though.

I agree, having all the basic demographics on the inital entry form

would be the ideal.

True. No reason to have two screens, one being a subset of the other. Really should only have the one screen. That being said, I haven’t looked at the current new_patient screen to see what else it is doing and how the make sure the current demographics screen does that in addition to what it does now. But it should be easy enough.
