Patient's Profile Modification (enhacement)

m4tute11 wrote on Friday, January 18, 2013:

Hello everyone,
I need to start using this system in a Dentist clinic and I need to have every patient´s Dentogram. So I want to know if I can add a link to their Dentogram in the Patient`s Profile:

If possible, how to pass the patient`s id to match it…

Any ideas, comments or help are more than welcome.
Thank you very much

Regards,

Matias

Matias,

Go to Administration and click on Practice and then click on Documents at the top. You will see where you can add a folder and name it Dentogram and save.

Go to the patient files like you show in the picture above and click on Documents. You should see the folder you have just created. Click on the folder. The right hand side should change to a prompt to upload a file. Select the Dentogram to import and you can rename the destination file name to what you would like it to be. Once the file is uploaded it will be visible on the right hand side for viewing from the chart.

Hello Sherwin thank you very much for your reply, It’s great what you told me and I will use it for other things I have in mind.

But I want to develop a php Dentogram tool to store that Data in a Database so I just need to know

1) How to add a Link in the Patient’s section and
2) How to pass the Patient’s ID to the Dentogram app

or

1) Know how to click on a patient and enable a menu item on the left (like Records-Patients Record Request)

I hope I’m being clear, thank you so much for your help

Matias

Matias,

I took to time to lookup what is a Dentogram and have to say it was quiet hard to find. Anyway, it was what I thought it was. If you would like to create a PHP dentogram, I would have to ask you how great are your PHP programing skills? The images of the teeth are going to be the greatest challenge.

You can use the layout based form editor to create your dentogram that will be stored in the patient record and will show up in the left hand menu. The challenge is going to be the image of the teeth. My approach would be to create a new data type that would hold the teeth image.

Or you could possibly use the XML form generator to create the form and that would differently bring in the image and there would be no need to create a new data type.

It is all possible. Just depends on your programming skills.
If you would like use to create the module for you, contact me at sgaddis (at) jse.net.

Matias,

as an after thought. For you to get started on the Layout Based form. Click on Administration > then List. Find the list of LBF’s and add Dentogram to it and save it. Then go back to Administration and click on Layouts and in the drop down next to Edit Layout you should see Dentogram as a form. Select it and begin the process of building the form.

Depends on your usage, but the GRAPHIC PAIN FORM might be an option. Within that module you can mark and name where the problems can be found or what has been done in the past. Replace the whole body graphic of man and women with the specific dentalgraphic in the Graphic Pian Form directory. Than replace the names with the appropriate names in translations. This could lead to some surprises in other parts of the Medical translations for PAIN etc.

This only works for changes or manual input for this specific client.
Before tomorrow 11:00 this activated option in working under:

http://www.open-emr.org/wiki/index.php/OpenEMR_Demo#Main_OpenEMR_Demo

Just to get some feeling if this could solve your problem. If this is good for you I can send you the steps to activate your graphic file.

http://www.cdho.org/Otherdocuments/CompetencyDentogram.pdf

use this file to make a dental graphic  and save it. I used a png graphic and pasted this in the directory an renamed it painmap.png

For a new dentogram it works and this graphics will be saved for this client only. I can not change this painmap.png in the Demo version, but tried it on my local host install of OpenEMR V4.1.1.7

BTW 11:00 hrs is local EMR time. Think it is California.

Hi blankev,
Even though what I’m trying to approach is something like this: http://cssdeck.com/labs/full/h0neues0 I can start using what you are telling me.
So I went to

/openemr/interface/forms/painmap/view.php

and I was able to see the map you told me.

Could you tell me the steps to see this in the application as a part of the Patient’s profile and how to activate it?

Thank you So much for your help, I’ll show the results with the rest of you.

Regards,

Matias

In the map, a sub directory of painmap go to Templates. In templates there is an graphic called: painmap.png rename this file into somthing else painmapold.png.

Make a dentogram.png, I could send a copy of the one I used if you give me your mail address.

Make an extra copy of this dentogram.png and rename this file into painmap.png

Next go to your client and make a new encounter and open Graphical pain form.

If you like what you see and want to continue. Make a note of all indications/names you want to change. If you use another language as default it is easy. If you use English it is also easy, but I can’t recall at the moment how this is accomplished. This is going to be a specialty change and with all new language translations you have to be aware of the changes you made or use an old copy of the tranlation tables. THis translation for painmap can not be translated through the Brady translation spreadsheet without creating problems for other medical professions.

Let me know if you find obstacles not mentioned in my compilations.
