Patient statements

Does anyone know how I can print patient statements in OpenEMR?

In version 3.1 and before statement printing only works on linux servers that are configured to use LPR devices for printing.  Additionally you need to customize  a file in the installation opener/custom/statements.inc.php to have you address info, etc.

There is a update to the program that is currently posted in the enhancements tracker.  Once it’s accepted (it needs a few tweaks) you will have the option of downloading the statement file to you local client for printing.

Tony,

Thank you for that explanation. I do have OpenEMR installed on a Linux Ubuntu 8.04 server with OpenEMR 3.1.0. Where in the navigation menu would I go to view/print the patient statements as I can’t seem to find it?

Also out of curiosity, how do current users create patient statements when using OpenEMR for billing? Especially if they are using a Windows server?

The key step in the process after editing the statements.inc.php file is to run the Billing module, then select .  The assumption is that you are first going to post payments from insurance claims, then the remaining balances will be used to create statements.   Select each patient that needs a statement (or use the select all). There is a button that says Print Selected Statements.

With the current version the file will be a text file in the TEMP directory on the server.  This directory is designated (currently) in the statements.inc.php file.  That changes with the patch I hope to get out this weekend,
