Just read an article about UCLA and implementation of patient rights to see who used or misused their eledctronic-stored medical information. Is it the intention for OEMR patient portal to cover this right or is it just something that can be used in case of a discussion with a client and you can show the specific log-files?

The portal(s) give access to the patient to view their medical records. The Drs are required to provide “timely access” in this manner to their Medicare and Medicaid patients (I assume on request). Access for other patients is up to the Dr’s discretion, I believe. The basic “onsite” portal is a view only kind of thing. ZHH offsite portal has extra functions like the ability to edit demographics, fill out forms online and add a new patient remotely.
