Outside access

Why does openemr hang when  I try to access it from outside my office network?
I am able to access other programs by https. but not openemr. Is there a way to configure it? I plan to use addeed security.

hey,
If other programs working via https( or http) then openemr should also work.
Need couple background questions here:
Server operating system?
Other programs that are working via https?
Are these other programs in the web directory also?
Works perfectly locally?
Away from office get white screen? unable to login? hangs during use?

here is my info:

freebsd 7.1 server
openemr 3.0.1
mysql5.1
apache 2.2

other programs working via https:

joomla
timeclock
sql-ledger (no longer in use)
phpgacl (no longer in use)
phpmyadmin
phppgadmin

I remember the problem started with the firefox3 upgrade.

Are these other programs in the web directory also?
Actually no, only openemr is in the web directory.

Works perfectly locally? yes, works beautiful.

Away from office get white screen?
takes forever to load, after 10 min it loads, but if I click on anything again hangs and takes 10 min to load.

thanks!

Hi
I saw this very same Problem with vmware server. I was using Firefox3 on Vista Business. I also got it with IE7 on Vista Business until I added my SSL site to the  trusted sites list on IE7.

Thanks

Hey,

What’s odd though is that he is serving other other web programs from same computer thru the https connection that work just fine. So, hard to blame it on https/server/certificates.  Did you get that behavior also, alperezcrespo?

When you use openemr locally, do you use a different path in the browser than when away from the office?
What happens if use another browser (explorer, safari, google chrome, opera, and/or previous firefox version)?
Does it improve if you clear the history and cookies in firefox?
How are you placing the paths to your web programs in apache config’s file? (sometimes, people forget to only direct port 80 to a directory…)

yes I always use the same path.

The web directory question got me thinking. So I removed an index.html file from the web directory. It seems to be working now. Could something so simple have been the problem?

The calendar still takes a long time to load. Is there a way to speed it up?
That is when I try to access openemr from an outside network.
