Others unable to search by insurance company in Billing?

Hi Folks- I’m finding this in both an OpenEMR v5.0.1 (2)
and the v5.0.1 (3) https://demo.openemr.io/c/openemr/interface/ .
I locate an encounter with charges on it, so it should appear in the Fees/ Billing module.
I can indeed find it by the search criteria, ‘Encounter’ (first pic below).
When I search on Insurance Company I can get the insco on the list (2nd pic below)
and select it for the ‘Current Criteria’ (3d pic)
but update the list and nothing appears.
Ideas?

fee-encsrch

fee-inssrch-pick

fee-noins

addendum: also doesn’t work searching by patient name.

Unless a claim has been previously billed, you can’t search it by insurance or X12 partner. (Unfortunate)

Wow, no kidding ‘unfortunate’.
But thanks for the tip, @ycharles , I never would have figured that out myself!
Is that the same reason it won’t come up by pt name either?

Never tried the Name. I use the ID.(Just tried Name and it worked)
Going back to the Insurance and X12 issue, an imperfect workaround:
Generate your file (X12 or CMS1500) twice.
The second time around, you will be able to use these filters. I sometimes do that since some of the insurance companies I deal with require alteration of the X12 file before transmission.
Not an elegant solution, but that works for me.

Just to be clear, I don’t use the files in the first round.

hmm, looks like the server hasn’t updated my email response. Thanks v much, @ycharles - that was a very helpful workaround, and I know that workflow well enough I can see it’s a bit of a PIA but with practice it will go along ok.
