I have installed the new openemr-xampp 3.1.0 package and I have to say that it is well done. Except for 2 things that I am running into! Number 1 is when i try to log on to the server from one of my workstation computers it will not do it and times out. I have tried turning off the servers firewall to see if that was an issue but it didn’t help. Number 2 is what is the Mysql database password for this distribution so that we can start loading ICD9 etc codes into the unit with the utilities in order to test it. I tried the ones from the 3.0.1 install but they did not work. I am running it on a Windows XP Pro box and this is the first time i have had trouble accessing the Apache server in an XAMPP install. Thanks
You can find password in the openemr/library/sqlconf.php file (I don’t know it offhand). If you post it here, I’ll place it in the user instructions page on wiki.
The firewall stuff is odd, it worked fine during my testing (note that I test in a windows virtual appliance running XP).
Can you connect to the box through other services not related to xampp (maybe stop the apache2 service and start the IIs service just to see if can connect?
Thanks Brady the password is 0p3n3mr with the first character being a zero and not a capital O. I’ll have to get back to you on the other stuff when I get the time today.
All the passwords for the different programs are located at c:\xampp\passwords.txt
As far as the accessing the server from other workstations. Are you able to send icmp requests to the server (ie. Pings). If so, can you also file browse the server? I am guessing that you can access the server locally as well via http://localhost/openemr… but can you confirm.
Yes I can access files on my server machine from all of my workstation computers which is why it is so strange! And yes I can access Openemr using localhost when I am actually on my server machine. One other thing that I did notice is I can’t get the Apache server to respond with It Works! if I just type localhost into my browser! It now ALWAYS gives me the login page to Openemr!
I am actually the author of that package. I purposely put in the /htdocs/index.html a forwarding meta tag to go to /openemr for the sake of newbies who would try just http://localhost
I will do some further another test on the latest package to see if that’s an issue on your end of with the package as far as access from workstations go. But I believe I did not have that problem.
OK now I am really confused! After talking to several patients yesterday we arrived at the conclusion that it was most likely the McAfee software firewall on the server that was causing the problem. So I turned it off again this morning and I still timed out. So I went into the advanced section after I had turned it back on to see what IP addresses were in the trusted range and saw that it had the correct ones. So I went back over to my workstation computer and tried again and lo and behold it brought the log on screen in an instant and it hasn’t given me any trouble since then!
