Is it possible to install Open EMR on Linode and have it manage multiple clinics. Also can patients schedule appointments by themselves?
you can refer below link to know about openEMR Installation

I don’t know anything about Linode, but if you can host VMs with them, then i suspect openemr will work just fine.
Ad for patients scheduling, there is a patient portal that lets them schedule appointments. Also some other cool features.
I also don’t know about linode, but once you get a working instance installed, here’s some info about your other questions.

Here is the set of wiki pages that tells all about the portal:
The OpenEMR 6.0+ Patient Portal - OpenEMR Project Wiki
Please note that OpenEMR does not permit a patient to actually SCHEDULE appointments through the portal; that would be a security risk. However, they can REQUEST an appointment through the portal which would then be confirmed by a human staff user. -
The default OpenEMR instance can support multiple separate facilities that share the same database. Here’s a wiki search for the pages that discuss different aspects of this:
Search results for "facility" - OpenEMR Project Wiki -
If the facilities need separate databases take a look at the Multiple Sites module:

Good luck!
